WILLIAMSasked the Minister of Agriculture whether he has consulted the Secretary of State for Air on the question of supplying the Royal Air Force with English or Empire-produced butter; and, if so, can he state the milk equivalent of such quantities of butter as would be required to satisfy the needs of the Air Force?
§ Mr. ELLIOTThe answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. As regards the second part, the milk equivalent of a quantity of butter the same as the quantity of margarine estimated to be required annually to satisfy the needs of the Air Force is about 2,150,000 gallons.
