HC Deb 09 March 1936 vol 309 c1787
31. Mr. T. WILLIAMS

asked the Minister of Agriculture whether he has consulted the Secretary of State for Air on the question of supplying the Royal Air Force with English or Empire-produced butter; and, if so, can he state the milk equivalent of such quantities of butter as would be required to satisfy the needs of the Air Force?

Mr. ELLIOT

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. As regards the second part, the milk equivalent of a quantity of butter the same as the quantity of margarine estimated to be required annually to satisfy the needs of the Air Force is about 2,150,000 gallons.
