HC Deb 03 March 1936 vol 309 c1197
78. Sir ALFRED BEIT

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether his attention has been called to the recommendations of the East African Professional Hunters' Association in favour of the prohibition of the hunting of big game by persons in motor-cars; and whether, in that case, he will consider giving effect to their recommendations?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the COLONIES (Mr. J. H. Thomas)

The answer to the first part of the question is in the negative. But the hunting of game from motor cars is already prohibited, subject to the rights of private landowners over their own property, throughout East Africa. If my hon. Friend has any special case in mind, I shall be glad to consider it.
