HC Deb 02 March 1936 vol 309 c976
2. Mr. MOREING (for Mr. CHORLTON)

asked the Under-Secretary of State for India the reason for the delay in the Tariff Board's Report; and whether this will affect the Indian Budget?

Mr. BUTLER

The Tariff Board has been pursuing its inquiry continuously since the Chairman's arrival in India on 10th October and the presentation of its report, which is obviously dependent upon the conclusion of its labours, is a matter within the province of the Board itself. Until the report has been received and considered I am afraid the second part of my hon. Friend's question does not permit of a definite reply.
