§ 33. Mr. H. G. WILLIAMS forasked the Under-Secretary of State for Air what was the cause of the accident to the Royal Air Force bombing aeroplane which crashed on the deck of the French liner "Normandie" this week; whether the pilot was under in struction; and what regulations apply to low flying by Royal Air Force machines over vessels generally, and particularly to machines carrying pilots under instruction?
§ Sir P. SASSOONThe pilot is engaged on a special training course. He was not under instruction during this flight in 1754 the sense of requiring a flying instructor. Apart from this I cannot at the moment usefully add to the reply which I gave yesterday to my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for the Isle of Thanet (Captain Balfour).
§ Mr. WILLIAMSMay I ask whether the answer given yesterday was in reply to a Private Notice question which was handed in after this question had been put on the Order Paper?
