HC Deb 10 June 1936 vol 313 c193
6. Mr. GRAHAM WHITE

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any statement to make on the progress of the Anglo-Egyptian negotiations?

Mr. EDEN

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply given to the hon. Member for Westhoughton (Mr. Rhys Davies) yesterday, to which I have nothing to add.

10. Mr. LEWIS

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he has any further statement to make as to the negotiations with the Egyptian Government on the subject of a new constitution for Egypt?

Mr. EDEN

My hon. Friend appears to be under a misapprehension. No negotiations are proceeding, or are contemplated, between His Majesty's Government and the Egyptian Government on the subject of a new constitution for Egypt.
