HC Deb 09 June 1936 vol 313 cc11-2
45. Mr. TINKER

asked the Prime Minister whether, when he introduces the Bill dealing with mining royalties, he will see that it contains provisions to compensate local authorities and others who have suffered damage through displacement of the surface caused by the removal of underground strata?

Captain CROOKSHANK

I have been asked to reply. I cannot anticipate the terms of the Bill, but generally its object will be to unify the ownership of mineral rights in coal and not to alter the existing law relating to support.

Mr. TINKER

Can the hon. and gallant Gentleman tell the House when the Bill is likely to be introduced? Will it be this Session?

Captain CROOKSHANK

I am afraid that I cannot make any statement about that matter.
