HC Deb 08 July 1936 vol 314 c1207
82. Mr. H. G. WILLIAMS

asked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been drawn to the action of the General London and Urban Properties, Limited, in giving notice to quit to the tenants of several hundred houses in Croydon unless they agree to pay higher rents; whether he is aware that in many cases these houses are controlled under the Rent Restrictions Act; and what action he proposes to take?

Mr. SHAKESPEARE

My right hon. Friend has been informed by the General London and Urban Properties, Limited, that they have withdrawn or are withdrawing any notices of increased rent relating to controlled houses.
