asked the Minister of Labour whether any arrangement has yet been come to for the establishment of medical comforts depots in the areas where they are urgently required?

Mr. E. BROWN

I am informed that the Commissioner for the Special Areas (England and Wales) has not yet received the proposal for a modified scheme to which reference was made in the reply given to the hon. Lady on 14th May.

Would it not be possible for my right hon. Friend to communicate with the Commissioner with a view to hurrying up this matter in view of the fact that it is a year since the question was raised?

My hon. Friend can take it for granted that the Commissioner is as keen on this matter as she is.
