HC Deb 15 December 1936 vol 318 cc2260-1
19. Mr. DAY

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will give particulars of any notice given or received to terminate any commercial agreements between Great Britain and foreign countries for the year ending 1936?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

The Trade Agreement of 1933 with Argentina was terminated on 20th November. A new agreement, which was signed on 1st December, operates provisionally, pending ratification, from 20th November.

Mr. DAY

Can the right hon. Gentleman say how many more agreements are liable to be terminated this year?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

That does not arise out of this question.
