HC Deb 15 December 1936 vol 318 cc2265-6
25. Major NEVEN-SPENCE

asked the Secretary of State for War whether any consideration has been given to the ques- tion of raising Territorial Army units in the counties of Orkney and Shetland?

The SECRETARY of STATE for WAR (Mr. Duff Cooper)

This matter is under consideration.

Major NEVEN-SPENCE

Will my right hon. Friend bear in mind that in both these counties there were highly efficient Territorial units in existence at the outbreak of the Great War, and that at the present time there is a very keen desire in both counties to get units established at the earliest possible date?
