HC Deb 08 December 1936 vol 318 c1803
13. Mr. DAY

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will give particulars of any licence he has granted during the 12 months ended to the last convenient date in connection with the export of munitions of war from this country to Portugal, Italy, and Japan?

Captain WALLACE

As my right hon. Friend informed the hon. Member in reply to questions on 7th April and 23rd June, it would not be in the public interest to give particulars of the licences which have been issued for the export of munitions of war from the United Kingdom to particular destinations.

Mr. DAY

Can the Parliamentary Secretary say the nature of the munitions?

Captain WALLACE

I have said that it would not be in the public interest.
