asked the Secretary for Mines the tonnage of anthracite coal exported from South Wales to the Dominion of Canada for the completed shipping season of 1936; and whether he can give comparative figures for the same periods in each year since 1933?

In view of the Lon. Member's previous questions this information has been specially extracted by the Statistical Branch of His Majesty's Customs, and I will circulate the figures in the OFFICIAL REPORT.

The figures are as follow:

Exports of anthracite from South Wales to Canada amounted to 1,138,957 tons in 1933, 1,097,670 tons in 1934, and 1,042,673 tons in 1935. In the first ten months of 1936, the latest date up to which information is available, the quantity was 858,772 tons.
