§ Mr. BUTLEROrders sanctioning the prosecution of Mr. Sajjad Zaheer under 1615 Section 124A of the Indian Penal Code were issued by the Government of the United Provinces on 17th November for a subversive speech delivered by him on 7th October. The orders were subsequently withdrawn by the local government on receipt of an undertaking from Mr. Zaheer's father that he would not offend again in the same way.
