HC Deb 03 December 1936 vol 318 cc1421-2
45. Mr. TINKER

asked the Prime Minister when the Trial of Peers (Abolition of Privilege) Bill will be brought forward for the Second Reading?

I am not in a position to state whether the Bill referred to by the hon. Member will be brought forward again this Session.

As the Peers themselves are anxious that something should be done about this question of Privilege, cannot the right hon. Gentleman see his way to accede to their request, and put them in the same position as an ordinary civilian?
