HC Deb 30 April 1936 vol 311 c1077
31. Sir ROBERT YOUNG

asked the Minister of Health whether he has received any report of the bad conditions of the Golborne, Lancashire, water supply; whether he is aware that the water services are practically choked with manganese dioxide and that the supply of drinking water is often dirty; and whether he will take steps to remedy this matter, in the interests of public health?

The MINISTER of HEALTH (Sir Kingsley Wood)

I have received a communication, which refers to pollution by manganese dioxide, from the Golborne Urban District Council. I am communicating with the authorities concerned.
