HC Deb 30 April 1936 vol 311 c1076
28. Mr. LESLIE

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he is aware of the recommendations passed at the International Labour Office Conference at Geneva in June, 1935, with respect to the school-leaving age, etc.; and what action, if any, he proposes to take on the matter?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. Oliver Stanley)

The recommendation passed at the International Labour Office Conference at Geneva in June, 1935, has been brought to my notice. In so far as this recommendation is directed towards the school-leaving age, I would refer the hon. Member to the Education Bill now before the House.

Mr. LESLIE

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware of the difference between the recommendations at Geneva and the Government's Education Bill?
