HC Deb 29 April 1936 vol 311 c910
62. Mr. THURTLE

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether the Government contemplate the introduction of a Redistribution Bill before the end of the present Parliament?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Mr. Geoffrey Lloyd)

I would refer the hon. Member to the reply which I gave to the hon. and gallant Member for the Nuneaton Division (Lieut.-Commander Fletcher) on 2nd April.

Mr. THURTLE

Can the hon. Gentleman tell me whether that reply indicates that there will be a Redistribution Bill or not?

Mr. LLOYD

The effect of that reply was that the programme for the present Session had been announced, and that my right hon. Friend could not anticipate the work of future Sessions.
