HC Deb 23 April 1936 vol 311 c302
39. Mr. MESSER

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware that the N.S. type of omnibus still in use on the London streets was put into use for the first time as long ago as 1922; that it is fitted with only two-wheeled brakes; and, in view of such a vehicle being unsuited for present-day traffic conditions, will he consider the possibility of these vehicles being taken out of commission?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of TRANSPORT (Captain Austin Hudson)

I am advised by the London Passenger Transport Board that the N.S. type of omnibus is being replaced by a newer type at the rate of not less than ten a week.
