HC Deb 21 April 1936 vol 311 c76

Resolved, That, as from the twenty-second day of April, nineteen hundred and thirty-six, the duties of customs chargeable on ferrotitanium, manganese metal, and chromium metal shall, instead of being charged under Part I of the Import Duties Act, 1932, be charged under Section one of the Safeguarding of Industries Act, 1921, as amended by any subsequent enactment, and shall be duties equal to one-third of the value of the goods: Provided that this Resolution shall not apply to ferro-titanium containing more than two per cent. of carbon, or to manganese metal containing more than one per cent. of carbon. And it is hereby declared that it is expedient in the public interest that this Resolution shall have statutory effect under the provisions of the Provisional Collection of Taxes Act, 1913.
