HC Deb 21 April 1936 vol 311 c19
30. Mr. DAY

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether the Government propose to take any action following the report of the Select Committee on Capital Punishment; is any amendment of the law in that connection contemplated; and will he give the House particulars?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Sir John Simon)

I would refer to the reply which I gave to a question on this subject by the hon. Member for Wolverhampton East (Mr. Mander) on 19th December last.

Mr. DAY

In view of the fact that the report was issued by the Select Committee in 1930, is it not high time that some action was taken?
