HC Deb 24 October 1935 vol 305 c312
54. Lieut.-Colonel MOORE

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is now in a position to make any statement in regard to his recent conversations with the representatives of the Church of Scotland on the question of irregular marriages in Scotland; and whether he can state the composition and terms of the committee of inquiry which he has promised to set up?

Sir G. COLLINS

I regret that the terms of reference and the personnel of the committee have not yet been finally settled.

Lieut.-Colonel MOORE

Can my right hon. Friend give any information as to whether legislation will be introduced when we return—when Parliament meets?

Sir G. COLLINS

We must wait for the findings of the committee.
