HC Deb 24 October 1935 vol 305 cc287-8
4. Mr. LAWSON

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware of the dispute between the workmen's assessors and the chairman of the Court of Referees in Darlington; and what steps he proposes to take about this matter?

Mr. E. BROWN

I am aware of the difficulties which have arisen. The court is continuing to function without detriment to insured persons and I am satisfied that, given good will, there need be no further friction.

Mr. LAWSON

Is the Minister aware that this dispute has been going on for a long time? Cannot something be done to bring the matter to an end?

Mr. BROWN

As the hon. Member knows, time is a great healer.
