HC Deb 22 May 1935 vol 302 cc338-9
Mr. LOGAN

asked the Minister of Transport whether he has completed his census of traffic requirements from Lancashire and the North to Cheshire and the Midlands via the Mersey Tunnel; and whether he is now able to state that he is prepared to make a grant towards the cost of the proposed Everton Tunnel?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

I expect shortly to be furnished with the results of a traffic census which is being taken by the Corporation of the City of Liverpool.

Mr. LOGAN

Is the hon. Gentleman able to give me any reply to the latter portion of my question; or will he be willing to receive a deputation after the census has been taken?

Mr. HORE-BELISHA

If the hon. Gentleman will be good enough to await the result of the census, it will then be possible for me to arrive at a decision with all the facts before me.
