HC Deb 21 May 1935 vol 302 c975

4.31 p.m.

The ATTORNEY-GENERAL

I beg to move, in page 106, line 27, after "be," to insert "deemed to be."

This is purely formal, to provide for the automatic substitution of "the Secretary of State" for "the Secretary of State in Council" in connection with any ordinary legal proceedings.

Amendment agreed to.

The ATTORNEY-GENERAL

I beg to move, in page 107, line 17, at the end, to insert: other than liabilities which are by this Act made liabilities of the Federation, or to contracts or liabilities for purposes which will, after the commencement of Part III of this Act, be purposes of His Majesty's Representative for the exercise of the functions of the Crown in its relations with Indian States. This is for the same purpose as the last Amendment but one, namely, to keep out of the scope of the Section liabilities on paramountcy contracts.
