HC Deb 15 May 1935 vol 301 cc1695-6
15. Captain CUNNINGHAM - REID

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether the conference of East African governors at its session, in May, 1934, or subsequent sessions, succeeded in accepting any further recommendations of the Report of the commission of inquiry into the administration of justice in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanganyika territory in criminal matters?

Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER

The Report was exhaustively discussed by the East African Governors' Conference in May last year, with results which I communicated to the House in reply to a question on the 11th December. I am sending my hon. and gallant Friend a copy of that reply, and of my despatch to the Governors which summarised the decisions taken on all the Commission's recommendations affecting more than one territory.
