HC Deb 14 May 1935 vol 301 cc1539-40
26. Mr. MANDER

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs who will be the British representative at the Rome Conference on the Central European Pact; and whether the British delegation will be present in a full representative capacity?

Mr. EDEN

I would refer the hon. Member to the statement made by the Prime Minister in this House on 2nd May, to the effect that His Majesty's Government will be represented at this Conference by an observer. It is not yet possible for me to say who will act in this capacity.

Mr. MANDER

Have the Government given consideration to the representations made on this subject by the right hon. Gentleman the Member for West Birmingham (Sir A. Chamberlain) during the Debate?

Mr. EDEN

I feel sure that that is so.
