HC Deb 28 March 1935 vol 299 c2078
44. Mr. HALL-CAINE

asked the Minister of Pensions whether, in view of the number of ex-service men who are still dissatisfied with their pensionable assessment, he will arrange for more frequent re-boarding of these men so that, even if it is not possible to give effect to their views, it may be possible to allay the sense of grievance now felt by them?

Sir VICTOR WARRENDER (Vice-Chamberlain of the Household)

I have been asked to reply. The great majority of the men on the pension list are in receipt of awards which by statute are final, and my right hon. Friend has no authority to order their medical reexamination.

Mr. G. NICHOLSON

Will the hon. Gentleman convey to his right hon. Friend the point that as this state of affairs has a damaging effect upon the health of some of the men, steps might be taken to provide a remedy?
