HC Deb 14 March 1935 vol 299 cc535-6
6. Mr. MANDER

asked the Minister of Labour whether arrangements have now been made under the Unemployment Act, 1934, for trade unions to administer standard unemployment benefit; and what steps should be taken by individual unions desiring to undertake this work?

Mr. STANLEY

The provision made by previous legislation for the administration of unemployment insurance benefit by associations of employed persons is not affected by the Unemployment Act, 1934. Any such association desiring to make an arrangement for this purpose should communicate with the Ministry.
