§ 43. Mr. TINKERasked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been 202 called to the noise and vibration caused by the use of the pneumatic drill in the breaking up of roadways; and can he say, what steps his Department is taking to find out what effect it has on the health of those who have to work it and those who reside in the vicinity?
§ Mr. SHAKESPEAREThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. With regard to the second part, the general question of the effects of noise and vibration is under investigation by the Industrial Health Research Board, and my right hon. § Mr. TINKERIs the point mentioned in this question one that will come before the commitee of inquiry?
§ Mr. SHAKESPEAREOh yes, certainly.
§ Captain STRICKLANDDoes the Minister consider that this matter is of less importance than the sounding of motor horns to avoid accidents?
