HC Deb 17 June 1935 vol 303 c9
21. Mr. OSWALD LEWIS

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs whether he is now prepared to make a statement as to the result of the negotiations with representatives of the Dominion Governments on the subject of the shipment of meat to this country?

The SECRETARY of STATE for DOMINION AFFAIRS (Mr. J. H. Thomas)

These discussions are still in progress, and I am not yet in a position to make a statement regarding them.

Mr. LAMBERT

Will the right hon. Gentleman bring his railway experience to bear on this subject? It has been in hand a long time.

Mr. THOMAS

My railway experience is useless where meat is concerned.
