HC Deb 06 June 1935 vol 302 c2041
48. Mr. CHURCHILL

asked the Prime Minister whether the new committee for the purpose of considering scientific means of defence against attack from the air, announced by him on 19th March, has in fact been appointed; and how many sittings has it held?

The PRIME MINISTER

The Committee has been appointed and has held two meetings. At these meetings it has reviewed in detail the research and experiments which have been undertaken, and are being undertaken, by the Committee of Scientists which has been continuously at work, and the investigations undertaken by the three Services. The committee has approved a number of plans of research and experiment, and has made recommendations which are being carried out and which will ensure the complete co-ordination and active prosecution of this research.
