Mr. MANDERasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether the attention of the Italian Government has been called to the effect on Clause 1 of the 1888 Treaty concerning transit through the Suez Canal of Article 20 of the Covenant of the League of Nations, abrogating all obligations or understandings which are inconsistent with the terms of the Covenant, in the event of Articles 10 and 16 of the Covenant being put into operation?
