asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he can state the number of gallons of alcoholic liquor imported into British West Africa for the latest available period; whether this shows an increase; and, if so, what steps are being taken in the matter?

Imports of alcoholic liquor into the British West African dependencies have declined considerably in recent years. I will circulate in the OFFICIAL REPORT the detailed figures for the last four years, so far as they are available.
