HC Deb 24 July 1935 vol 304 c1845
79. Mr. H. WILLIAMS

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury the respective numbers of men and women civil servants employed in the administrative class, the executive class, and the clerical class during the last financial year; and the aggregate number of days of absence for sickness of men and women, respectively, in each class during that year?

Mr. COOPER

As regards the numbers of men and women in the three classes mentioned, I would refer my hon. Friend to the statement given in reply to a question by the hon. Member for West Walthamstow (Mr. McEntee) on the 8th April, 1935. Figures for a date later than 1st April, 1934, are not yet available. As regards the second part of the question, sick leave statistics are collected only from the larger Departments and the returns do not show the various grades separately.

Mr. WILLIAMS

Has the hon. Gentleman any information at all as to the difference in the case of men and women?

Mr. COOPER

Yes, Sir.
