HC Deb 18 July 1935 vol 304 cc1205-6
44. Mr. HENDERSON STEWART

asked the hon. and gallant Member for Rye, as representing the Forestry Commissioners, whether, as it is proposed to mark Their Majesties' Jubilee by the naming of a part of the Commission's land in England King's Forest, he will consider making similar recognition of the Commission's Scottish estates?

Colonel Sir GEORGE COURTHOPE (Forestry Commissioner)

The selection of a forest area in Scotland for this purpose is under consideration.

Mr. STEWART

Are we to understand that it is the intention of the Commissioners to carry out the suggestion made in the question?

Sir G. COURTHOPE

Yes, Sir. In order to give the public the greatest possible facilities of enjoying the forest, a consultative committee has been called together to go into the matter, and we await their report.
