§ 43. Mr. MACQUISTENasked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the position of the Kilsyth housing scheme; whether the houses already erected have been measured and the cost thereof ascertained; and whether they are all tenanted?
§ The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for SCOTLAND (Mr. Skelton)As the reply is long and includes a number of figures, I propose, with my hon. Friend's permission, to circulate it in the OFFICIAL REPORT.
§ Following is the reply:
§ Fifty houses have been completed by the local authority of Kilsyth under the Housing Town Planning, etc. (Scotland) Act, 1919; 404 under the Housing (Financial Provisions) Act, 1924; 130 under the Housing (Scotland) Act, 1930, a total of 584, and all are occupied. Tenders were approved by the Department on 25th October, 1934, for a further 152 houses under the Act of 1930. None of these are yet completed and no measurements of them can yet be prepared. The measurements of the 50 houses under the Act of 1919 and of 106 under the Act of 1924 have been completed. Measurement of 136 1044 houses erected under the Act of 1924 is nearing completion; measurement of the remaining 162 houses under the Act of 1924 is in progress, and some measurements have been completed. The measurement of the 130 houses completed under the Act of 1930 is in progress. The local authority hope to receive the outstanding measurements at a very early date. The final cost is of course ascertained on the measurement.
