§ 23. Captain CUNNINGHAM-REIDasked the Postmaster-General whether he will consider the introduction of legislation enforcing the compulsory modification of electrical apparatus causing interference with radio reception?
§ Major TRYONThe whole subject of the measures that can best be taken to prevent interference with wireless broadcasting is at present under consideration by a committee appointed by the Institution of Electrical Engineers on which the British Broadcasting Corporation and the Post Office are represented, in addition to the electrical and wireless interests concerned. The question whether there is any need for legislation will be considered when the committee's final report is received.
§ Captain CUNNINGHAM-REIDIs it not the fact that legislation has been found very satisfactory in France?
§ Major TRYONI cannot speak of what has happened in France, though I should be glad to receive any information from my hon. and gallant Friend; but we prefer to remedy these difficulties by technical means rather than by legislation, if that be possible.
