§ 17. Sir W. JENKINSasked the President of the Board of Education what steps, if any, are being taken by the Board to provide in elementary schools in England and Wales dining-halls, gymnasia, shower-baths and changing-rooms; and can he give the number of schools that have these provisions at present?
Mr. STANLEYWhere circumstances justify the provision of such additions to the normal school buildings of a public elementary school, the Board are prepared to sanction their provision and to take the expenditure into account for the calculation of grant to the local education authority. I regret that I am unable to answer the second part of the question.
