HC Deb 11 July 1935 vol 304 c484
66. Mr. MANDER

asked the Secretary to the Department of Overseas Trade what British towns are being officially represented by exhibits at the International Brussels Exhibition now being held?

The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the BOARD of TRADE (Dr. Burgin)

The only British town that has an official exhibit in the British Pavilion is Wolverhampton, whose exhibit consists of a Bureau of Information set up by the Industrial Development Association of that town. Other towns which have taken advantage of the Local Authorities Publicity Act are represented indirectly by the Travel and Industrial Development Association of Great Britain and Ireland; which, jointly with the British railway companies, also maintains an exhibit in the British Pavilion.

Mr. MANDER

Do I understand that Wolverhampton was the only town which had the foresight and patriotism to be represented on its own?

Dr. BURGIN

The hon. Member must understand what I said and not what he added.
