HC Deb 09 July 1935 vol 304 c131
1. Mr. PARKINSON

asked the Secretary of State for Dominion Affairs when he proposes to make a statement on the position in Basutoland, in view of the recommendations in Sir Alan Pim's Report?

The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for DOMINION AFFAIRS (Lord Stanley)

My right hon. Friend is not yet in a position to make a general statement, but I may say that applications have been received from the Basutoland Government for assistance from the Colonial Development Fund in respect of the principal recommendations of Sir Alan Pim's Report. These applications are now being considered with a view to submission to the Colonial Development Advisory Committee.
