HC Deb 09 July 1935 vol 304 c153
34. Sir F. ACLAND

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he is prepared to make any statement with regard to the policy of the Government as to raising the school-leaving age before the summer adjournment in order to enable local authorities, in preparing estimates of expenditure this autumn, to begin to make the necessary preparations for this reform?

Mr. STANLEY

I am afraid that I am not yet in a position to make any statement on this matter.

Viscountess ASTOR

Will the right hon. Gentleman tell us when the Government will be in a position to make a statement?
