HC Deb 09 July 1935 vol 304 cc152-3
33. Sir FRANCIS ACLAND

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he will issue a circular to local education authorities with regard to the removal of the restrictions on building contained in Circular 1413, and an active resumption of programmes for providing senior schools in order to secure the completion of such programmes at the earliest possible date?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of EDUCATION (Mr. Oliver Stanley)

In case the statement made in this House on 17th June has failed to come to the notice of all the local education authorities, I will issue a memorandum informing them of that announcement.

Sir F. ACLAND

Will the right hon. Gentleman take steps to assist and encourage education authorities to complete their building programmes?

Mr. STANLEY

I think they will find in that statement a great deal of encouragement.
