30. Mr. McKIEasked the Minister of Transport whether he is aware that the ferry at Kylesku, in the county of Sutherland, is unsatisfactory and provides an irregular service; and whether he will take steps to get it improved?
§ The PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY to the MINISTRY of TRANSPORT (Captain Austin Hudson)The Kylesku ferry is operated by the Scottish Automobile Association. I am informed that there is a, continuous service during daylight from about the middle of May to the middle of October, but that delay may be experienced at certain low tides. I will, however, send my hon. Friend's question and this reply to the association, together with any suggestion for improvement which he may wish to make.
§ Mr. GUYWill the hon. and gallant Gentleman consider a scheme for replacing this ferry by a bridge?
