HC Deb 04 July 1935 vol 303 c1984
10. Mr. SMEDLEY CROOKE

asked the Minister of Labour what results have been obtained from experiments made in any district from sharing of work schemes?

Mr. E. BROWN

I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply given on the 3rd April, 1935, to a similar question put by the hon. Member for Leigh (Mr. Tinker).

Mr. CROOKE

Will the Minister consider a scheme of this nature if I submit one?

Mr. BROWN

I am always prepared to consider a scheme.

16. Captain PETER MACDONALD

asked the Minister of Labour whether, in considering assistance to schemes for the provision of employment, he will bear in mind the desirability of taking steps to deal with erosion on many parts of the British coast?

Mr. E. BROWN

I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to the replies given by my predecessor on 15th May, and by my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade on 8th May to the hon. and gallant Member for Blackburn (Sir W. Smiles). I am afraid that I have nothing that I can usefully add to these replies.

Captain MACDONALD

Will the right hon. Gentleman consider whether he can amplify those replies?

Mr. BROWN

I will do my best, but, as my hon. and gallant Friend will see, they are very long and full replies.
