HC Deb 20 February 1935 vol 298 c351
38. Mr. BANFIELD (for Mr. CHARLES BROWN)

asked the Minister of Health why he refuses to allow the Sutton-in-Ashfield Urban District Council, Nottinghamshire, to carry out a closet-conversion scheme?

Mr. SHAKESPEARE

Applications for sanction to loans for closet conversion have been refused because the provision for sewerage and sewage disposal is inadequate. My right hon. Friend is now informed that the council hope shortly to submit a scheme for improved provision. If and when a satisfactory scheme is undertaken, my right hon. Friend will be prepared to reconsider the council's application.
