§ 10. Mr. DAVID GRENFELLasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what steps are being taken by the League of Nations to continue the work in China begun there by its technical agent?
§ Sir J. SIMONAssistance continues to be rendered to the Chinese authorities by various technical organs of the League, such as the Communications and Transit Organisation, the Health 5 Organisation and the Committee of Intellectual Co-operation. At its last meeting the Council Committee on technical co-operation between the League of Nations and China, while reaching the conclusion that it did not appear to be essential to appoint a technical agent for the time being, invited the Secretary-General of the League temporarily to dispatch to China the director of one of the competent sections of the Secretariat with a view to ensuring the continuance and development of the work begun by the former technical agent. I understand that the Director of the Communications and Transit Organisation of the League Secretariat has been selected for this mission.
