HC Deb 10 December 1935 vol 307 c728
38. Mr. M. MacMILLAN

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will consider setting up, in the interests of the Harris tweed industry in the Outer Hebrides, a marketing board for the marketing of the homespun Harris tweed of the crofters of the Long Island?

Sir G. COLLINS

I have no power to set up a board for the regulation of the marketing of Harris tweed. But, if the hon. Member is of opinion that. I could usefully assist the crofters in any arrangements which they desire to make for improved marketing organisation, I shall be glad to consider his suggestions.
