HC Deb 09 December 1935 vol 307 c557
61. Mr. LOFTUS

asked the President of the Board of Education whether, in view of the valuable nature of the first report of the committee of prominent educational experts, under the chairmanship of Sir Philip Hartog, now investigating the examination system, he will consider making a grant from public funds to enable them to continue and extend their investigations?

60. Mr. HOPKIN

asked the President of the Board of Education whether he has considered the report of the committee investigating the value of examinations, and what action he proposes to take?

Mr. STANLEY

The report of the committee raises questions of great importance which call for, and will at once receive, full investigation by my Department. It would be premature for me to say more than this at the present time.
