HC Deb 17 April 1935 vol 300 c1833
24. Mr. MANDER

asked the Minister of Transport whether he is prepared to consider the possibility of co-operating with the London County Council in connection with some form of guarantee for the proposed Thames water omnibus service contemplated by the Thames Passenger Service, Limited?

Captain HUDSON

No such proposal has been made to my hon. Friend, and in Any event he would not feel justified in recommending that funds derived from general taxation should be used for this purpose.

Mr. MANDER

Are we to understand that the Minister of Transport will not even discuss the matter?

Captain HUDSON

My hon. Friend is prepared to discuss the matter. A subcommittee which was set up in November, 1934, reported very adversely against the proposal.
