§ The FINANCIAL SECRETARY to the TREASURY (Mr. Duff Cooper)I do not think I should be justified in asking the Committee to search their records for particulars of this kind. I am informed by them, however, that while it is their practice to keep the course of imports under review, they have 'seldom since their comprehensive recommendations in 1932 had occasion to undertake the detailed investigation of a case in which the industry concerned or members of it had failed to make representations.
